recorded and remixed / epilogue 2010 - our city
- Series: Recorded and Remixed
At the end of the year, Tom Liwa and Helge Schneider once again philosophise on music, humour and the Ruhr area. Festland provided the soundtrack while we were recalling the year 2010
Balance sheets are not our thing - we were concerned about music, the people behind it and the region that it is created in. Which standard shall be set here? After 7 episodes - a journey that took us through the entire Ruhr area and some funny, contemplative and exciting encounters - what remains is the good feeling that there is more than you can see at a first glance.

That's why we choose to leave the words to our darlings of the audience of our little series.
For a last time, we are rowing on lake Entenfang with Tom Liwa getting into distress.
Helge Schneider talks about the humor of the Ruhr area and explains his existence strikingly:
"That's why I'm still the misfit of this world. And I like it; that's the only way it's fun to me".

Those who like the quote may transfer this sentence to the Ruhr area and take it home as a result from our journey.
Yet you don't have to.
Result tends to sound so final.
And we don't want to draw the bottom line here just yet.

Soundtrack of this episode: Festland (Essen) – "Our City“
"The Ruhr Area - recorded and remixed“ - a series of episodes by Jens Mayer, Jörg Stiepermann and Peter Hesse on music, people and the Ruhr Area.

City
These days, more than 5 million inhabitants do experience the transformation of their post- industrial Ruhr area in the western part of Germany to an exciting European „place to be“, a budding metropolis in a post-Capital of Culture 2010 identification process with its industrial culture as part of a collective memory being a characteristic feature – and an orchestrated mass event.
