Out of Curiosity
- Series: Media Art
'Out of Curiosity' is a visual presentation of a road trip by art student Joël Rabijns. During his trip, he explored the educational field of e-culture in the different participating art educational institutes. In Flanders, The Netherlands and Northrhine Westphalia, he collected e-culture projects in a digital way and brought them together in a curiosity cabinet or Wunderkammmer. This tangible 'Out of Curiosity' cabinet was presented at the E-Culture Fair 2010 in Dortmund and incorporated video reports on all relevant projects.
Building upon the idea of the physical 'Out of Curiosity' installation that formed a collection of projects on e-culture, an online platform originated. This digital curiosity cabinet can be found on www.outofcuriosity.be
Out of Curiosity is a project of the Belgian research group 'Social Spaces', based at the Media, Arts & Design Faculty in Genk and Hasselt.
