Man Dokis Aquarelle

„Passion and authenticity without any compromises“, that's the philosophy of „Man Doki Soulmates“. And on the stage of the O2-World in Berlin, the star-studded ensemble was living up to this motto. On August 28, 2009, they introduced their new album „Aquarelle“ to an enthusiastic audience.
Some still think of Dschingis Khan when they hear the name of German musician and producer Leslie Mandoki ... But with his project "Leslie Mandoki and Friends", he has been around for a long time already: 15 years ago, he started to gather friends and musicians he knew for musical sessions.
After some time, the „Man Doki Soulmates“ evolved from those sessions: friends became soulmates, and Rock (with which they first had started) became a mixture of Jazz, Rock, and Pop.
The core line-up of the project consists of keyboardists Laszlo Bencker and Matthew Fisher, guitarist George Kopecsni, vocalist Masha Elstner, and Mandoki at the drums.
Apart from them, 15 internationally acclaimed musicians are also part of the project, among them greats like Toto's founder Steve Lukather, Jethro Tull's front flute Ian Anderson and Chris Thompson, well-known as the voice of Manfred Mann’s Earth Band.
In addition to all that, Leslie Mandoki was on stage with his son Gabor for the first time. On the after show party, LAB2010.tv asked the Mandokis, the musicians, and the audience what music, creativity, and the Soulmates project meant to them.
