How to become a "creative" city - Liverpool after the Capital of Culture year 2008

The film " Stories of Vacancy and Creativity – Liverpudlians in their neighbourhoods" tells the story of Liverpool residents, so-called Liverpudlians, who live in three different, sometimes not too chic districts, and it also discusses the issue of Liverpool’s change from a shrinking to a "creative" city and how that affects its districts.

Have Liverpool’s residential districts benefitted from the Capital of Culture year?

The three students of geography from Berlin who have created the film in September 2009, have an ethnographical perspective, and collect their impressions of the city, its residents, scientists, and planners.
And: "Who are the "creative people", anyway?"


The students have asked the question how Liverpool’s residential districts were influenced –among others - by the city being the Capital of Culture 2008. The film was done in the course of a project seminar – this June, it was shown for the first time at the "Long Night of Science".
