Been Out – moving boundaries of young digital art
Winner of the 2010LAB.tv competition „Pitch for PICNIC“
Been Out is an all-arts competition for young artists exploring the parameters of art in the generation ot digital natives.

Fluxus belongs to the past. In these times of cross media and viral marketing, the open competition Been Out, set up by Fabian Saavedra-Lara’s online gallery Bohème Précaire, questions the art of the digital natives. Do they still know the meaning of art? Is there still a trade based on art?
According to the free-associating motto “go out, be out, include the outside”, the applicants should question and revalue the gridlocked meanings of urbanity, arts, architecture, and private and public sphere.
Five submissions will be chosen from the received material and will be exhibited in the co-working space Ständige Vertretung in Dortmund at the end of the year.
Been Out is one of the five winners of our competition „Pitch for PICNIC“. The initiative will be present at the leading European creative industry exhibition PICNIC from September 14–16. Additionally, the conference in Amsterdam offers the exclusive opportunity of a 12-minute pitch presentation regarding the ongoing competition.
