Wandering in Kosice
A regular guided tour
Every first weekend of the month there is a guided tour organized for those that are interested to know more about Kosice. Saturday and Sunday, usually around an hour long wandering with professional guides speaking slovak, english and many other languages. For exact date, topic and your language you are welcome to visit website potulka.sk
Today Kosice offers much more than 10-15 years ago. New galleries, culture centers, festivals, concerts are almost on daily base. And with coming 2013 when the city will be european capital of culture this boom is increasing.

Every tour is updated with latest info connected to the topic, for example this month it was about St. Elisabeth Cathedral and visitors were told besides already known description also hot news from the Urban Interventions project where a light effect was suggested for unfinished southern tower of the Cathedral. As well as centuries old drawing but never realized.
The fee for tour is affordable, just 1.50 € in pre sale. And children get it for free. In addition, you get a discount in few sweetshops with a ticket. Participants often visit places that are closed for public, like catacombs.
Keep it funny
Last weekend it was my first guided tour and certainly I will participate again. If you plan to visit more
Stories are told right on the place where something happened, often enriched with interesting comments not found at common brochures. Well, maybe in book written by the same guides. Particularly book Walks around the city 1 and 2 by Milan Kolcun. The book is written with emphasis to attract reader instead of to flood him with details.
So, do you enjoy Kosice and its stories? Would you like to discover more about surrounding of this town? Then you should know that there is guided tour every second weekend of the month in city of Prešov.
