The Nuit blanche festival will take place in Kosice for the second time in the history.

Just one night before the legendary international peace marathon takes place in Kosice there will be another big international event taking place in the city. The Nuit blanche, well known european cultural project will take place in Kosice on the 1 October 2011 form 19:00 until 2:00 in the morning in the centre of the city. The festival Nuit blanche will be composed of thirty stays whith the unique enlightened exponates form the artists from all over the Europe.

The idea of this light festival during the night in the city was set in 2002 in Paris and since then the event have taken place all over the Europe in the biggest metropoles of Europe. The project Nuit blanche is one of the most unique way to present the art in the public especially for the people that would never enter a gallery or a museum.

Histroical buildings, churches and cultural institutions can be used in this occasion in a new special way, to be enlightened the way they look during the day. Kosice will change for one night into an interactive city, a place for which the regular night cycle does not exist. Music, light and art will come together into an unique combination which will bring more light, sound and life to the city’s night and will create the white night – nuit blanche.

Video installations and breathtaking dance

For all the visitors there will be a possibility to enjoy the music and to see the contemporary art and the new dimension of the city. Among the most interesting projections there will be the imitation of the chopped forest, people washing the main city centre street with the mop, dynamic facade that will move in the most unpredictable way. The video installation will transport the visitors to the imaginary country or make them feel as running on the international peace marathon. Breathtaking will be the dancing creations or the experimental concert.
