Music in the city: Goslink and his wild instruments.
Whoever considers Dutch to sound crude and harsh, will think again when hearing Goslink singing one of his sweet, hazy songs. Never before has someone made this language sound so soothing.
Remember those kid fantasies of making a drum out of buckets and building your own guitar from fruitbasket wood? Goslink did it and it sounds like a dream. Songs called ‘theme on cookiejar banjo’ or ‘wineglass composition’ tell all. When you catch him live, you’ll be in for a treat: he performs with a wide range of instrumentalists in a selfbuilt decor. Goslink lets your wildest kid fantasies come true.

His first album just came out and it would be reverie-unworthy if Goslink would simply put it out like any regular cd: The album called ‘Stilleven’ (Still life, derived from the painting term) has one of Goslinks paintings printed on it and comes with a hook to hang it up with. A true piece of art, for the price of a cd, true Goslink style.
I cannot do anything but applaud this imaginative hero, play his record and hope he will take over Holland soon. And how about the world next? There’s no limit to dreams, right?

His first album can be heard in its entirety for the coming few weeks here.
Goslink also keeps a pretty neat blog about his whereabouts and artventures. It’s in Dutch, but gives nice photo series on his self made instruments.
