Martin Hreha

video artist

Martin Hreha is second year student of Atelier of free creativity 3D in Kosice. Before that he was studying photographic design in Presov. The presented video is cut record of his performance.

His sound performance was originally 27 minutes long and consisted of Martin’s electronic sound compositions and sound painting on the gypsum disc. The sound painting is made from acryl mixed with sand in order to be played with the phonograph principles into sound.

Martin was born in Vranov nad Toplou and is currently living in Hanusovce nad Toplou. He studies in Kosice. It is too early for him to say what will happen after school, well four years is time enough to decide. He is a bit critical about Kosice as cultural capital of Europe next year. Especially he doubts that military barracks are rennovated and an old swimming pool becomes a "Kunsthall" (art hall). Actually, this is a common opinion of young artists. They believe to get the chance to expose their artworks besides already famous names and to keep the institutions running also after 2013.
