Europe in Shorts 2011

Europe in Shorts 2011 - european short film exhibition on 2010LAB.tv

25 exceptional short films of budding directors

2010LAB.tv presents 25 short films from international film schools to support young and upcoming directors from all over Europe to reach a bigger audience.

The Internet has only brought partial use for short films by mainly cultivating a fast-paced and only skin-deep clip culture. At the same time, the Internet offers the artistic short film ideal prerequisites for the most widespread distribution in high-standard surroundings and on discursive platforms.

The short film Internet exhibition EUROPE IN SHORTS is aiming at leading the short film out of the clip culture's shade that has been overshadowing it for years. Short film on the web can offer cultural exchange, artistic quality, esthetic joy, discussion with regards to content and intelligent entertainment. EUROPE IN SHORTS would like to increase the medium’s usability for the film culture and to promote an Internet culture that is selling under value often enough.

The following film academies participate in 2011
The Tallinn University Baltic Film and Media School (BFM) ifs internationale filmschule köln, Cologne, Germany Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln (KHM) The National Film and Television School – NFTS, London The Sam Spiegel Film & Television School, Jerusalem

The series  Europe in Shorts will display the current films, interviews and portraits of the film academies.

Metropole Ruhr
These days, more than 5 million inhabitants do experience the transformation of their post- industrial Ruhr area in the western part of Germany to an exciting European „place to be“, a budding metropolis in a post-Capital of Culture 2010 identification process with its industrial culture as part of a collective memory being a characteristic feature – and an orchestrated mass event.
