The anniversary concert 2 in 1

This year’s 2 in 1 concert was set to celebrate the third anniversary of Kosice earning the title European capital of culture for the year 2013. Since the last year the concert was ment to set the cooperation between the two neighbouring cities Kosice and Presov, this year it was ment to put into contrast two biggest competitors in the country – the biggest and the second biggest city in Slovakia – Bratislava and Kosice. By culture we have mannaged to connect these two cities by the bridge of cooperation this year.

The artists from the both cities have managed to connect the cities by the art. The surprised audience was able to see more connections then differences between the two. The art was able to connect the people and to show that the rivality is only fictive and as a result it is more positive then negative.

And the event was not only about music but all kinds of art including fashion show of young fashion designers from Kosice combined withe piano concert of the musician coming form Kosice and working in Bratislava. This was just one example of the connections of the unique connection of the cities introduced by this event. Next there have been intorduced a work of the State philharmonic orchestra of Kosice and different artists form both cities – musicians, actors and singers.

The atmosphere of the concert showed that the main goal was accomplished – the cities have presented its plans of cooperation for the future and the connections between the cultural operators in Bratislava and Kosice. The next year – just several months before Kosice will begin it’s year as a Euroepan capital of culture we are looking forward to the 4th anniversary concert.  Until then it will stay a secret who will be Kosice’s next partner after Presov and Bratislava...
