ZADARETRO & ZADRANISM - A creative platform on the past and presence of Zadar

Zadar based slavist, actor, journalist, writer and photographer Abdulah Seferović (born 1934 in Banja Luka) is the author of the fabulous website ZADARETRO and "Zadranism".
"Zadranism" is the interest for all that can create the imaginative experience of Zadar´s urban past and presence, as a support in the search of Zadar´s civil identity and soul.

On the first page one can find updates and informations as who started the first italian museum of Photography or the launch of a book on Zadar-Photography "Photpgraphia Iadertina"

The website has a diversity of pages analysing the civil identity of Zadar and it´s urban soul the search for identity , old postcards of the city , coffeehouses and bars , Theaters , the famous Zadar puppeteers

and many more.

One can find informations, fotos and considerations about myths of one of the most beautiful cities in the adriatic sea. Zadar was bombed by the Allies in the II.WW, with serious civilian casualties. Many died in the carpet bombings, and many landmarks and centuries old works of art were destroyed forever. A significant number of civilians fled the city.
 

One section is dedicated to Photography about Zadar from it´s very beginnings when the Daguerreotype appears in Dalmatia , through different ages and authors as Josip Spralja (co-owner of the Famous Toronto Restaurant JOSOS, that is run by his son Leo Spralja).
